1770 Saltmarsh Savers
1770 Saltmarsh Saver volunteers completing survey
The 1770 Saltmarsh Savers is a citizen science project that collects data on the health of the Round Hill Creek saltmarsh. Saltmarsh is an important and undervalued ecosystem.
Come along to our next 1770 Saltmarsh Saver Survey!
Saturday 20th September at 2pm we will be heading out again to survey a new location site in either Agnes Water or 1770.
If you would like to come along please RSVP and we will send through the meeting time and location. These surveys are tide dependent.
Things to bring:
- long sleeves and pants (to reduce sun exposure and insects)
- enclosed shoes you don’t mind getting wet and muddy (reef booties are perfect)
- hat
- insect repellent
- water
What to expect:
We spend about 5 minutes at the meeting point discussing what we will be doing and where we will be going. Then a small bushwalk (5-10 mins) to get to the saltmarsh. We spend about 1 hour walking around the saltmarsh observing all the wonderful flora and fauna and also any impacts to the saltmarsh. Then we head to a local park to fill out the survey data sheets – this takes about 1 hour also.
Upcoming Dates:
Saturday 20th September
