Bird Description:

With olive-green plumage and a brilliant red facial skin (in males), the Australasian Figbird adds a tropical splash to coastal treetops. Females are softer brown and streaked below — the perfect camouflage for nesting.

Special features:

Loves figs, berries, and fruiting trees, where you’ll hear its bubbling chatter among the canopy.

Did you know?:

These social birds often form loose colonies, and their messy twig nests sway high above as a cheerful chorus fills the trees.
