Absolute Characters, family oriantated, lovely vocals, inquisitive, intelligent and once learned – can be sure to get what they came for.
They catch their prey mid air but love an easy meal (like all of us). So pictured here I am inciting a preferred behaviour of manors from the immature chicks to get meal worms for snakcs – who were eager to learn once they realised I was safe.
Thanks to their mum, “Mrs Pirate”, for bringing her 3 chick’s by. Each grew old enough to have their own chick’s and visit on the odd occasion.
Special features:
Named for its hooked beak and habit of impaling prey like insects or lizards on thorns or wire fences. With striking black-and-white plumage and a hauntingly beautiful song, the Pied Butcherbird is one of Australia’s most skilled vocalists.
