Bird Description:

Like flying rainbows, these cheeky parrots are impossible to miss with their bright blue heads, green wings, and splashes of red, yellow, and orange. They zip around in noisy flocks, especially in the early morning and late afternoon.

Rainbow Lorikeets love flowering trees and are often spotted feeding on nectar high up in eucalypts and bottlebrushes. They’re full of personality, often hanging upside down or squabbling with each other mid-air.

Lorikeets have a special brush-like tongue that helps them lick nectar and pollen from flowers—kind of like a feathered hummingbird with attitude! Their noisy chatter makes them sound like they’re gossiping in the treetops. They sleep in large, noisy roosts and do aerial acrobatics while feeding on blossoms.
