A small to tall, narrow shrub up to 5m tall. Leaves of cylindrical with a sharp point. Has delicate cream-coloured flowers followed by a large, hard woody seed capsule that splits to release the seed. Grows in sandy soils and swampy sites. Can withstand periods of wet soils. Perfect for attracting small native birds to gardens.
